What We Actually Do
We work on residential garage doors: torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers, tracks, hinges, and openers. We repair panels that have taken a hit and replace sections that have rusted through or warped. We install new doors and new openers when a repair no longer makes sense.
Most of the houses we get called to were built between 1969 and 2007, with the median landing around 1987, and a lot of the stock across the 14 areas we cover clusters in the 1980s and 90s. That matters for a quote because doors and openers from that build window often use hardware nobody stocks fresh anymore, and springs sized for the original door weight if a panel was ever swapped.

What We Will Not Do
We will not give you a firm price over the phone for a broken spring, a bent track, or an opener that's stopped working, sight unseen. Spring tension, track alignment, and wiring faults all look similar from a homeowner's description but cost differently to fix, and guessing wrong either underquotes the job or overcharges you for something simple.
We will not quote a full door replacement without knowing the rough opening size and whether it's a single or double bay, because door width and insulation option change the number by a lot.
We will not push a repair on a door that's cheaper to replace outright. If your door dates to the earlier end of that 1969-2007 build range and the track, hardware, and panels are all showing wear at once, patching one part usually just moves the next failure a few months down the road. We'll tell you that instead of running up a bill on parts for a door on its way out.
We will not add charges after the fact for anything we saw and didn't mention during the estimate. What changes the price is what we find once the door's open in front of us, not paperwork.

It can. A lot of homes here date to the 1980s and 90s, and older builds sometimes have hardware or spring sizing that isn't common on newer doors. That's part of why we want to look at the actual door before locking in a number rather than quoting blind off an age guess.
Do you install new doors or just repair?
Both. We install new doors and openers when a repair doesn't make sense anymore, and we'll tell you honestly which side of that line your door is on rather than defaulting to the bigger job.
